New Patient Counseling
This important first session is extended longer than regular sessions as to gain the big picture of your life story, what you are hoping to work through and what goals you wish to accomplish in therapy. The New Patient Counseling Appointment provides an initial frame work for future sessions.
Set to occur however often you and the therapist decide together, these are your regular 60-minute sessions where the therapist patient relationship is built, techniques are implemented, issues and triumphs are discussed, and ultimately where healing, growth & acceptance take place.
New Patient: Couples Counseling
At Root, we know that our relationships are the most important aspects of our lives, affecting our health and well-being. Our approach to couple’s therapy is to look at any core issues in a holistic manner. Our Licensed Mental Health Provider uses Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT) to quickly get to the heart of the conflict and tension in a relationship. This scientific approach to couple’s therapy works to prevent premature and unnecessary separation, to support healthier couples and family units and to cultivate positive change. At this initial visit relational goals will be discussed and foundations will be made for the the therapeutic journey ahead.
Follow-up Counseling: Couples
At these follow up appointments with you, your significant other and our Licensed Mental Health Provider, techniques and perspectives will be offered to reach your specific relational goals. Our therapist may also suggest complimentary modalities to enrich a couple’s connection, such as massage, sauna, acupuncture, and yoga.
