Gina Snowden, LAc

Acupuncturist

Gina is a 28-year United States Air Force veteran who began her transition into holistic wellness as a means of coping with years of pain. That transition became a life-long adventure of discovery, learning, and self-actualization. Her passage through the trials and blessings of various healthcare systems motivates her to share her experiences with others in the hope that they may benefit from her patient-to-practitioner journey.

Gina is a licensed acupuncturist in Oregon and Hawaii with a Master of Science degree in Oriental Medicine from the Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Hawaii. Board-certified in acupuncture and herbal medicine through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, she is also certified as a yoga teacher and fitness instructor. Skilled in pain management techniques as well as in integrating biomedical modalities with ancient wisdom traditions, her approach is compassionate and patient-centered. In addition to placing a high premium on patient education, she highly values the patient’s voice in their own healthcare.

Prior to relocating to Portland, Gina worked at Tripler Army Medical Center’s Interdisciplinary Pain Management Clinic in Honolulu, Hawaii. There, she discovered a passion for helping to alleviate pain with acupuncture, food as medicine, movement, bodywork, yoga, and meditation. Here, she has found beautiful synergy in aligned core values and the holistic environment of Root Whole Body.
