Scott Baker, LAc, IFMP
Scott Baker is an integrative medicine provider who specializes in creating sustainable health with his patients through acupuncture, nutrition, and lifestyle practices. He is a licensed acupuncturist, board certified herbalist, and a trained practitioner through the Institute for Functional Medicine. His clinical approach to patient care blends core wellness concepts from traditional Asian medicines and Functional Medicine with holistic, evidence-based therapies. Scott creates individualized treatment plans for his patients that build on Root Whole Body’s core values of nutrition, movement, resilience, and restoration.
Scott earned his Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the renowned Bastyr University in Seattle, WA where he deepened his respect for this centuries-old system of medicine. Practicing at integrative medicine clinics for over a decade has honed his craft of blending the wisdom of ancient Eastern cultures with the scientific advances driving modern holistic medicine.
As a Functional Medicine practitioner he is part of a growing body of clinicians who are shifting away from a disease-focused model of healthcare and instead using systems-biology to create individual, patient-centered wellness.
Scott is an outdoor enthusiast and can often be found hiking, running, surfing, or skiing throughout the Pacific Northwest. He lives in Portland with his wife Samantha, two young children, Rylee and Aidan, and his adventure husky, Zadie.
