Jason Younkin, LMT
From a young age, Jason knew he wanted a career that would be spiritually and emotionally rewarding, where he could have a positive impact on people on a daily basis. With guidance from friends and family in the alternative medicine field, he found massage therapy to be a perfect fit. Upon completion of the massage program at The Soma Institute in Chicago in 2003, he embarked on his wellness journey. His earliest experiences were in spas where clients were meant to feel pampered and relaxation was paramount. This style was satisfying but he realized that he got the most gratification from being part of someone’s wellness journey. Creating long term treatment plans, tracking progress and seeing first hand how the benefits of massage therapy can improve someone’s quality of life. This drive led him to utilize his skills in clinical settings working alongside chiropractors, physical therapists and naturopaths. He is comfortable working on either end of the spectrum but striking a balance between deep relaxation and therapeutic touch is what truly defines his style. His training includes Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, Sports Massage, Hot Stone, Prenatal/Postnatal Massage, Myofascial Release Techniques, Lymphatic Drainage, and Orthopedic Massage Techniques relating to common injuries to the neck, shoulders, hips and IT bands.
