Connectedness: it’s what we, as humans, crave in order to feel a sense of community and a sense of purpose in the world. With the current state of mandated social distancing, physical connection to friends, co-workers, extended family and even friendly strangers is extremely limited. However, it’s so important that we continue to stay connected and lean on one another to support a collective wellbeing. Here are some creative and fun ways to stay in touch and interact with friends and loved ones:
- Keep up with consistent texts and phone call communication to check in with loved ones in your life
- Utilize video chat methods more to connect, including FaceTime, Marco Polo, Skype, Google Hangouts, etc.
- Coordinate watch parties with your friends or family to view the same movie or show at the same time (Netflix has a creative way to do this with a chat section!)
- Converse in online groups like Facebook groups or Reddit threads
- Play multi-player online games or video games
- Take part in collective methods of working out, including live streams led by instructors
- Host a remote book club
- Use multi-player game or trivia apps
- Spend more time playing games, watching movies, cooking, having lively discussions or doing other interactive activities with those in your household
