Q: Is Root Whole Body Open and operating during this time?
Yes. We are currently open for your self care including Naturopathy, Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Massage, and Skincare, as well as our saunas and hyrotherapthy bath (one person at a time). We have temporarily suspended our group movement classes, but are offering those movement classes through our livestream platforms.
Q: How do I navigate the Governor's stay-at-home order?
We have been in contact with the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) each morning and we are reviewing legislation to ensure we are able to provide the optimal care for you during these challenging times. Our clinic can remain open per Governor Brown’s most recent executive orders, and we may continue serving patients following safety guidelines as put forth by the OHA.
Q: Is Root open for in-person appointments?
Along with others in healthcare, keeping our clinic open on a limited basis, safely, per industry guidelines is the best delivery of our mission during these times - to provide immune support, supplements & herbs, pain relief, guidance or even emotional support for our patients.That said, trust your comfort level- we also have telemedicine appointments available and highly encouraged at this time.
Our providers are available in-person to support you if needed. During appointment confirmations, we will ask a few extra questions about any new symptoms, recent travel, and recent personal contacts, and we will double check your temperature. Behind the scenes, we’re adhering to requirements and precautions from the CDC and OHA to ensure our facility is safe and clean.
Q: May I come into the clinic if I'm experiencing symptoms?
We are requiring telemedicine appointments for anyone exhibiting any cold and flu-like symptoms or compromised immune system. If in doubt, here’s a Coronavirus Self-Checker tool from the Center of Disease Control (CDC) that helps you navigate your symptoms.
Q: How do I schedule a telemedicine appointment?
Schedule like you would any other appointment online or by phone (503) 292-7668 or email email@example.com. Prior to your scheduled appointment, you will receive an email with a link to your appointment to a video conversation with your doctor or practitioner.
Q: Are telemedicine appointments covered by my insurance?
Many health insurance companies have adopted a temporary policy covering telemedicine appointments during this COVID-19 crisis, so if you’re an existing patient, nothing new is required other than to simply schedule a telemedicine appointment here.

Q: How is Root managing Covid protocols on site?
We are taking this global health crisis very seriously and doing our best to keep our staff and customers as healthy and safe as possible. Here's what you can expect from your in-person experience at Root:
- Prior to every visit each customer is called and asked a series of pre-screening questions -
- Have you had a new or worsening cough?
- Have you had a fever?
- Have you had shortness of breath?
- Have you been in close contact with anyone with these symptoms or anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 14 days?
- Each customer has their temperature taken before any service.
- Every person in our facility is required to wear a mask at all times. In some circumstances the customer may remove their mask when necessary (ie. face down on a table, in a room by themselves, or receiving a procedure on their face).
- All rooms and surfaces are cleaned and sanitized using CDC and WHO standard Covid-19 protocols.
